Oncoplastic Breast and Specialist General Surgeon

Dr Brown is an Oncoplastic Breast and Specialist General Surgeon practicing at Wellington Regional Hospital, The Breast Centre at Bowen Hospital and Wakefield Hospital. He completed his surgical training in the UK, including studying at the Oncoplastic Breast Units in Exeter, Taunton and Truro, before moving to Sydney to complete a two year Fellowship at Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. During this fellowship he perfected his skills and  developed the expertise required to offer patients the very best care.

As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Dr Brown is a fully trained general surgeon, treating emergency patients as well as performing elective general surgery.

Dr Brown gained his Master of Surgery degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia, completing his dissertation on Autologous Fat Grafting. He is also a member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand as well as the Association of Breast Surgery in the UK and is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Breast Surgery.

Dr Brown has published several papers on fat grafting, breast reconstruction and patient safety. He treats the full range of benign and malignant breast conditions as well as performing elective and emergency general surgery and endoscopy.
